Fluid Conditioning Products produces a wide range of filters that use perforated metals or stronger, coarser wire mesh than is typically used in wire cloth. These are called strainers.
Typically, strainers filter out particles that are 100 microns or larger. These particles can cause severe damage to pumps, valves, and other major components. We can construct industrial basket strainers in virtually any size or configuration. The important design parameters are generally flow, pressure drop, and particle size.
Special “ground-only” air intake screens were manufactured by FCP for fighter jets. The principal objective of this strainer is to keep tools, birds, and other debris from entering the jet engine through the air intake during engine servicing and storage.
In other applications, FCP has incorporated magnets into some larger strainers to capture metallic particles. We have also created basket-type strainers as tall as six feet and as small as the inlet to a 1/8th inch fitting.

Indicators that alert users when filters should be changed or cleaned play an important safety role in filter applications. Fluid Conditioning Products manufactures mechanical indicators which include options such as thermal lockout or anti-reset mechanisms.
We equip our filtration systems with the appropriate type of indicator to meet customer engineering specifications.
FCP indicators use a pop-up button that signals when a filter is clogged. More complex indicators may have an electrical switch that illuminates a light or triggers another response.
FCP has also developed an indicator sensitive to thermal lockout. These devices are used in differential pressure indicators to prevent false activation below a predetermined temperature. The objective is to avoid unwanted indication during periods of high fluid viscosity, such as experienced when starting aircraft and hydraulic systems in cold weather.
